Her father is writer Valeriy Surov, her mother is theatrical scientist and actress Valentina Surova (Shanaeva).

As of January 2018, she has four grandchildren.

In 1985, she entered the Irkutsk Theater School but then transferred to the Chita Cultural Counseling School to People's theater directing faculty. In 1995, she also graduated from the VGIK named after Gerasimov (workship of S. Solovyov).

Made her professional stage debut in 1975 at the Norilsk Theater at the age 5.

Has three children: a daughter Asya Surova (b. August 25, 1988), a son Kaspar Schultess (b. July 6, 1993) and another daughter Lyubov Kotlyarova (b. January 10, 1996).

From 1995 to 2007 she didn't work as an actress.

Was married a few times; her current husband is Roman Sviridenko, a director and an actor, whom she married in November 2016.

Was an actress of the theatre ''IBRUS'' from 2009 to 2012. Since 2012, she is an actress of the theatre ''Practice''.

Had a rough pregnancy with twins and one of the babies died in utero. She was offered to have an abortion which she declined and later gave birth to twins, a dead baby and his healthy twin, at home with a nurse.
