- Birth name in several sources given as Wilburn Hartwell Stubblefield. Sources also claim he later changes his name to Hartwell Wilburn Stubblefield. Birth year is given as 1907, 1908 & 1909 but it is generally given that he was actually born in Oklahoma...not California.
