Biography

Howard Strickling was born on September 25, 1896 in West Virginia, USA. He is known for The Next Voice You Hear... (1950). He was married to Gail Greenstreet. He died on July 16, 1982 in Chino, California, USA.

His voice is heard as announcer on many of the M-G-M movie trailers, including those for the first three theatrical releases of "The Wizard of Oz" - in 1939, 1949 and 1955.

Strickling came into possession of Marie Dressler's Academy Award statuette following her death in 1934, although it is not listed as a bequeath in her last will and testament. As of 1997 it was in the possession of Strickling's niece.
