Lukas Foss was born on 15 August 1922 in Berlin, Germany. He was a writer and composer, known for Bella Figura (1995), NBC Television Opera Theatre (1949) and Bernstein at 60: An Appreciation (1978). He was married to Cornelia Brendel Foss. He died on 1 February 2009 in Bridgehampton, New York, USA.
