Biography

David Storey was born on July 13, 1933 in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, UK. He was a writer and actor, known for This Sporting Life (1963), In Celebration (1975) and Great Performances (1971). He was married to Barbara Hamilton. He died on March 27, 2017 in London, England, UK.

His 1960 debut novel "This Sporting Life" was based on his experiences as a professional rugby player for Leeds RLFC (now Leeds Rhinos).

He studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, and was an accomplished painter.
