Streaming Stars, Then and Now

Emmy winning film and television producer, Shelby Stone considers her greatest achievement in Hollywood is surviving. As a Black woman who started in this business knowing no one, she has, through sheer force of will, and some dumb luck, managed to build a career in film and TV and make some pretty good projects along the way. Shelby and Derek Dudley started a production company, ID8 Multimedia, which has a wide variety of projects including features Super High (New Line), Hate to See You Go, starring Morgan Freeman as well as, the new feature documentary from Oscar winner, Questlove (Summer of Soul) on Sly Stone . They also have several series in development, namely The Street (NBC) Blood Brothers (Showtime) and they've just started pre-production on season six of The Chi. She is also a very experienced executive, running production companies for several of high profile African American stars including Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah and Common. She is the recipient numerous awards and nominations, including Emmys, Golden Globes, The Bronze Lens, People's Choice, GLAAD, George F. Peabody Awards, the Humanitas Award, and NAACP awards. Shelby is an active member of Producer's Guild, Women in Media, and Film Independent where she taught the Producer's Lab.
