Father of actors Dean Stockwell and Guy Stockwell.

Singer whose biggest claim to fame was providing the singing voice of the Prince in the classic animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937).

His second wife, Dorothy Tucker, was a Broadway dancer.

Wed three times and had two sons by his first wife Elizabeth Margaret Veronica (8/20/1910-10/15/1993), who was a Broadway actress and appeared under the stage name "Betty Veronica." She was a dancer normally cast in ensemble roles such as the musicals "Twinkle, Twinkle" (1927) and "My Princess" (1927). The couple met during the New York run of "Earl Carroll's Vanities" in July of 1930. They married a few months later in November and Betty retired not long after in 1931.

A handsome Broadway baritone, he appeared in the musicals "Broadway Nights" (1929), "As Thousands Cheer" (1933), "George White Scandals" (1939) and "Marinka" (1945) as Prince Rudolph. He served as a replacement in the original runs of "Oklahoma!" (as Curly) and "The Desert Song" (as Pierre).
