  • The actor Magnus Stifter made his stage debut at the age 21 in Innsbruck in 1899, it followed engagements at other theaters in Austria, later also in Germany, among others in Berlin.
  • He experienced a first height of his acting career at the Dresdner Schauspielhaus where he was appointed to a Hofschauspieler. In the next followed many other engagements at different theaters.
  • From 1914 he also gained a foothold in the film business and soon became a demanded actor in front of the camera.
  • The 20's marked the height of his film career and he worked together with the greatest film workers of his time.
  • During his nearly 30 years covering film career he also realised two movies as a director at the beginning of his career, both with Asta Nielsen and Ludwig Trautmann in the leading roles - "Dora Brandes" (1916) and "Das Liebes-ABC" (1916).
