Elbe Stevens
Elbe Stevens (Roermond, 1968) studied Audiovisual Design at the Sint Joost Academie in Breda. During his studies, he won the Filmnet Screenplay Prize for his student film VERMIST (Missing) at the 1995 Rotterdam Film Festival. In practice, he alternates direction and screenwriting assignments. He worked on many films and television programmes, both for public and commercial broadcasters.

In 2007, the satirical animation series Café de Wereld received a Golden Rose nomination at Montreux. Elbe Stevens, Tijs van Marle and Nico Dijkshoorn are the main writers.

In 2011 he was again nominated for a writing award. This time with Pieter Bart Korthuis and Franky Ribbens for the Lira Scenarioprijs, the premier award for drama screenwriters in the Netherlands. The nomination is for his contribution to the first season of Penoza (KRO). In 2012, Elbe decides to focus on producing films. A decision based on the large network he built up, his storytelling expertise, and the ability to transfer this knowledge and the desire to be ultimately responsible for the entire filming process. In less than three years, he produces about twenty short films, some of which are internationally known. DE SMET, directed by Wim Geudens and Thomas Baerten wins 17 international awards, including the Canal+ Award in Clermont Ferrand. The 15-minute comedy is selected for more than 100 festivals.

In 2014, he receives the inspiration award from the Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund, in the field of film. In 2015 he produces his first feature film, CODE M (98 min), with Bijker Film/TV and broadcaster AVRO/TROS; it was directed by Dennis Bots and distributed internationally by Sola Media, Germany. In 2017, Elbe is co-initiator of the 30-minute avant-doc Seaways by the highly acclaimed German filmmakers Miriam Gossing and Lina Sieckmann. The film is a German co-production (Coin Film). In 2017, the Netherlands Film Fund support the feature film Blaasmuziek (screenplay Sophie van den Pol and Paul Jan Nelissen, director André van Duren). The feature film is a co-production with Pupkin Film and will be realised in 2018/2019.
