- Hermine Sterler was born on March 20, 1894 in Bad Cannstatt [now Stuttgart], Germany. She was an actress, known for Te quiero con locura (1935), Little Mother (1935) and Railroaded! (1947). She died on May 25, 1982 in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
- German character actress, on the stage at various theatres in Berlin during the 1920's. In films, played mostly well-to-do or noble-born ladies. Left Germany after being excluded from the Reichstheaterkammer due to her Jewish ancestry. Emigrated to the United States in December 1938 (adopting American citizenship six years later). Helped by William Dieterle to gain a foothold in Hollywood as a bit part supporting player. Left acting in 1966.

- She was able to continue her film career in the sound film era of the 30s.
- After a longer interruption Hermine Sterler appeared a last time in front of the camera. For director Alfred Hitchcock she appeared in the production "Torn Curtain" (1966).
- The actress Hermine Sterler began her career at the age of 24 at the Residenztheater in Hannover. After other stations she came to Berlin where she not only acted on stage but also joined the film business.
