Biography

Henry De Vere Stacpoole was born on April 9, 1863 in Kingstown, Ireland. Henry De Vere was a writer, known for The Blue Lagoon (1980), Return to the Blue Lagoon (1991) and The Truth About Spring (1965). Henry De Vere was married to Florence Robson and Margaret Robson. Henry De Vere died on April 12, 1951 in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, England, UK.

He married Margaret Robson in 1907. She later died, and in 1938 he married her sister, Florence Robson.

A ship's surgeon for more than forty years, Stacpoole was an expert on the South Sea islands. His many books contain detailed descriptions of the natural life and civilizations with which he was so at home.
