At the time of her 1958 marriage to Everett Hayes, she was living in New York City and was on staff at the magazine Sports Illustrated. Her wedding announcement stated that the ceremony would take place in San Mateo, California, and that the couple would move to nearby Sunnyvale (after a honeymoon in Hawaii) to remain close to Hayes' work.

In the early 1950s she worked for Life Magazine. She appears, through her job at the magazine, to have been involved in several television news programs, though it's unclear if her work was more in front of or behind the camera.

Her husband, Everett Allison Hayes, worked for Lockheed Martin. They lived in Sunnyvale, California, and later (early 1970s) in Studio City.
