  • She won in 1966 third prize at the International Film Festival Mannheim for her short movie "Das Portrait".
  • In 1965, together with Enke, Lemke, and other members of the Schwabing cultural scene, she formed the "Neue Münchner Gruppe" (New Munich Group)—active until around 1972—with the aim of producing their own films.
  • She also tried her hand at writing and founded her own studio theater, which, however, had to close after two performances.
  • May Spils is a German actress, screenwriter, and director.
  • In 1964, Spils attempted to build a film company with Werner Enke and Klaus Lemke.
