Aleksei Speshnyov was born on 27 March 1911 in Kharkov, Kharkov Governorate, Russian Empire [now Kharkiv, Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine]. He was a writer and director, known for Chronicle of the Night (1973), Black Sun (1971) and Moskva - Genuya (1964). He died in 1994 in Moscow, Russia.
