He was born in Mexico City and his father is the famous film producer,
'Jesus Sotomayor', with over 91 films. He debuted as producer in 1988 with
Pasión y poder (1988). He was at the AFI (American Film Institute) in 1980. He has
produced five telenovelas in English, for the first time in Mexico, and
they've been sold to over 90 countries. He produced 3 historical
telenovelas covering much of Mexico's history. At the moment he is in
the story development of two films to be co-produced by Televisa and
Warner Bros.
