- Played in the early days of the NFL between 1923-1930, mostly as a Guard for The Buffalo All-Americans, Columbus Tigers, Detroit Panthers and Providence Steamrollers; all teams now defunct. (DatabaseFootball.com).
- Was discovered and recruited into Pro Wrestling by Ed "Strangler" Lewis, who trained him and helped him turn his grid iron skills into his "Flying Tackle" wrestling maneuver. (Pro wrestling hall of Fame.com).
- Played & helped coach the independent pro football team, the Pottsville Maroons, to a minor league title of Championship of the Anthracite League.
- Played in the early days of the NFL for now defunct teams: Buffalo All Americans and the Columbus Tigers (1923), Detroit Panthers (1925-26) and the Providence Steam Roller (1927-30).
- Played College Football for both Dartmouth and (after transferring) the University of Detroit Mercy, a private Catholic university.
