  • Shaun was born in Glasgow Scotland and raised in Calgary Alberta. He graduated from the BFA Acting program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton Canada, and has been acting professionally for over 25 years. He began his career at the Stratford Festival where he learned from such classical masters as Bill Hutt, Brian Bedford and Seanna McKenna. After Moving to Toronto he dug deeply into his craft studying with modern masters; Uta Hagen, Joe Chaikin, Patsy Rodenburg and Simon McBurney of Theatre Complicite.

    Shaun's break in Theatre came when he was as cast as Mark Renton in the North American premiere of Trainspotting for Canadian Stage for which he was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore award. Plays that Shaun has since appeared in have been nominated for over 60 awards including two Tyrone Guthrie awards. Shaun created the role of Theo Fleury for the critically acclaimed one man show Playing with Fire: The Theo Fleury story, he was hand picked by former NHL all-Star Theo Fleury to play the role. It's performed on a synthetic ice rink in skates. The show has been nominated for over 25 awards across Canada.

    His break in TV came shortly after with a show called Pit Pony set in Cape Breton Nova Scotia where he played the lead, Ned Hall, the feisty Scottish union leader, and step dad to a young Ellen Page. The show ran for two seasons. He has appeared in over 100 episodes of Television and shared the screen with such talents as Lynn Redgrave, Christopher Plummer, Terrence Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio, Mathew Perry, Oliver Platt, Bob Balaban, Taye Diggs, Christina Hendricks, Joshua Jackson, Anna Torv, Naveen Andrews, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Madchen Amick, Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman, Karl Urban and John Lithgow and Millie Bobby Brown.
