Biography

Smudo was born on March 6, 1968 in Offenbach am Main, Hesse, Germany. He is an actor and composer, known for Penguins of Madagascar (2014), Madagascar (2005) and Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012). He has been married to Esther Schmidt since 2006. They have three children.

Has been singer and songwriter in the German hip hop band Die Fantastischen Vier since 1989.

Has a racing driver's license (International C) and participates in several sports car races.

Besides his successful performances with Die Fantastischen Vier, he established himself as a noted solo artist, collaborating with other German bands.

After receiving his pilot license, he bought a Beechcraft Bonanza.

Lives in Hamburg.
