Scott Smith has captured the attention of moviegoers for many years with his high-energy, big action and suspenseful style of film editing.

His career began in the Dominican Republic as a production assistant on set of the feature film titled Sorcerer (1977). In 1978 Scott moved indoors as an apprentice editor working with his father Bud S. Smith, on another Freidkin film The Brink's Job (1978).

Since then Scott and Bud have worked together on such notable films as, Flashdance (1983), The Karate Kid (1984), To Live and Die in L.A. (1985), Some Kind of Wonderful (1987), Johnny Be Good (1988), Gross Anatomy (1989), Ladder 49 (2004), The Game of Their Lives (2005) and G-Force (2009).

Scott's television credits include editing the pilot for the Sci-Fi Channel's popular series The Invisible Man (2000), along with many more network and cable television movies.

Smith's expertise encompasses all areas of post-production which has carried him around the globe. In 2005 Scott traveled to St. Petersburg Russia as Film Editor and Post Production Consultant on the feature film Leningrad (2009), starring Mira Sorvino and Gabriel Byrne.
