David Sloan is an Emmy Award-winning producer and creative executive known for his long-standing career at ABC News, where he serves as the Senior Executive Producer and Creative Lead of ABC News Studios. In this role, he oversees the production of premium narrative non-fiction content, including feature documentary films, series, and specials for platforms such as Disney+, Hulu, and National Geographic.
Sloan’s career is defined by his extensive leadership at the newsmagazine 20/20, where he served as Executive Producer for over two decades starting in 2000. Under his guidance, the program maintained its reputation for high-impact journalism. His credits also include producing for Good Morning America, Primetime Live, and numerous breaking news and Diane Sawyer specials.
His work has earned him significant industry recognition, including nine Emmy Awards, five Peabody Awards, and a DuPont Award from Columbia University. Before entering television, Sloan worked as a reporter for The Star-Ledger and taught writing at his alma mater, Rutgers University.
