Antonio Skármeta was born on 7 November 1940 in Antofagasta, Chile. He was a writer and actor, known for Ardiente paciencia (1983), The Postman (1994) and No (2012). He was married to Nora María Preperski and Cecilia Boisier. He died on 15 October 2024 in Santiago, Chile.
