Joan Singleton

JOAN SINGLETON wrote and produced the award-winning film, BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE, a 20th Century Fox/Walden Media production based on Kate DiCamillo's Newbery Award-winning and bestselling novel of the same name. The project was directed by Wayne Wang and starred Jeff Daniels, Dave Matthews, Eva Marie Saint, Cicely Tyson, and (then) newcomer AnnaSophia Robb. Previously, Singleton was Associate Producer of STEPHEN KING'S GRAVEYARD SHIFT. She also discovered and developed FIRST BLOOD while working at Warner Bros. She co-founded Lone Eagle Publishing, which became the largest niche publisher in the entertainment industry. For almost 20 years, Lone Eagle published professional credit and contact directories, books by and for the movie industry, as well as the industry's first online database, "Eagle I." Singleton sold Lone Eagle Publishing to resume her film career. She has several film and television projects in development.
