Anne Sinclair was born on July 15, 1948 in New York City, New York, USA. She is a producer and writer, known for 7 sur 7 (1981), Infrarouge (2006) and Ambitions (1986). She was previously married to Dominique Strauss-Kahn and Ivan Levaï.

As the ex-wife of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, she is ostensibly the prototype for the character Simone in Welcome to New York (2014). On 18 May 2014 she published an editorial in the French edition of The Huffington Post denouncing the film and claiming that the references to her father and grandfather were defamatory and anti-Semitic.

Was selected as one of the most beautiful women in the world by 'readers' of French magazine LUI (monthly telematic poll).

She was the companion of the late Pierre Nora.
