Biography

Preston Simpson was born on April 26, 1961. He was an actor, known for Godzilla (1998), Pan Am (2011) and 30 Rock (2006). He was married to Andrea L. Kooharian. He died on February 7, 2021.

Is not to be confused with the younger Preston Michael Simpson.

There are some unique parallels between the two. Both studied German, with the older Preston Simpson becoming fluent while Preston Michael Simpson only spent two semesters studying it. In Beyond the Ring (2008), Preston Simpson played a taekwondo student while Preston Michael Simpson practiced taekwondo briefly in 2008. The older Preston Simpson actually was in Godzilla (1998), providing motion capture for baby Godzilla. This aligns to the younger Preston Michael Simpson, due to his fascination with paleontology and the fact this is even his favorite Godzilla movie. Finally, the elder Preston Simpson was also a comedian. Preston Michael Simpson briefly considered a career in comedy while in the fifth grade. Even the use of a middle name parallels the both of them. The older Preston Simpson's full name is actually David Preston Simpson. He omitted his first name due to another David Simpson already being in either Actors Equity Association or Screen Actors Guild.

Both Preston Michael Simpson & Preston Simpson were Facebook friends for about nine years, until the elder Preston Simpson's passing in 2021.

Held a BFA in dance from Point Park University, after studying acting for 2 years at NYU.

Had two cats, named Flapjack and Zoey. Flapjack became the namesake of Flapjack Comedy, his production company.

Hobbies included hiking, fishing, and camping. He also was part of a Frisbee golf league.

Fluent in German.
