- She and Richard Attenborough (who she would later marry) were students at RADA in1941 but never met in class although they were aware of each other. The first time they came together was when RADA put on a season of Shakespeare plays for evacuated London school children in Wales and they appeared together in Twelfth Night but it wasn't until 1945 that they married. In between he'd joined the RAF and was a flight Sgt air gunner.
