Osvaldo Silvera Jr was born in Miami, Florida. In high school he
started in TV Production and quickly fell in love with the camera.
After high school he went to Career Institute of America a Video and
Audio School which was located in Miami Beach, FL After finishing the
program He got a job with Broadcast Quality a Video Production company
specializing in Corporate and Legal video productions. 3 years later he
went freelance shooting low budget music videos, later went on to work
for Accord Film and Video in Miami where he worked as their nighttime
editor for clients wishing to edit after normal working hours. His time
as an editor lasted about 1 year and he went freelance again working as
a director of photography/camera operator shooting commercials,
documentaries, and music videos along with a feature called "Krazy 4
Love" Directed by Davin "natural" Drye in Atlanta, GA with his newly
acquired Arriflex 16BL camera. In 1996 he purchased his first 16SR, and
with that came his second feature film "Oliver Twisted" starring Erik
Estrada and Karen Black, in 1997 He purchased his first 35mm sync
camera. Since then work has been ever growing with more commercials,
and Music Videos. In 1998 he was working as Senior Camera Operator at a
Barry Diller TV station in South beach when they acquired a Steadicam
and did not have anyone to use it. Ozzie quickly picked it up and with
practice, he was shooting a show called "Ocean Drive" his love for the
craft grew from there into finally purchasing an old Model 1 from Dan
Kneece,SOC a steadicam operator in Los Angeles. Since then he has
upgraded to a PRO system, and has even attended a class with Garrett
Brown, the inventor of the Steadicam in Pennsylvania in late 2000. he
continues to live in Miami, even though his work takes him to Germany,
Brazil, Dominican Republic, Peru, Canada and anywhere else someone
needs his expertise and ability to operate the camera. Currently
Osvaldo has been working as a DP and Operator on many Reality shows for
Network and Cable outlets.
