Biography

Robert Sidney was born on October 9, 1909 in New York City, New York, USA. He was a director and writer, known for The Silencers (1966), Dom DeLuise and Friends (1983) and The Loves of Carmen (1948). He died on March 26, 2008 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

His last appearance, at the age of 99, was in "This Is the Army, Mr Jones", broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 7th November, 2009. He talked about his experiences in the touring stage show and film "This Is the Army".

Served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was with the Special Services Divison, becoming principal choreographer for the military musical revue "This Is the Army," which premiered on Broadway in 1942.
