- Brian Sibley was born on July 14, 1949 in London, England, UK. He is a writer and actor, known for Wallace & Gromit: The Best of Aardman Animations (1996), Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers (1993) and Wallace & Gromit in Three Amazing Adventures (2005).
- Is a distant cousin of writer/producer Fran Walsh. Both of them have penned adaptations of The Lord of the Rings.
- Wrote, with assistance from Michael Bakewell, the script for the radio adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, broadcast in 1981 on BBC4. This version featured cast members from other LOTR adaptations: Michael Graham Cox and Peter Woodthorpe reprised their respective roles of Boromir and Gollum from The Lord of the Rings (1978), and Ian Holm (Frodo in the radio version) went on to play Bilbo in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003). This version, originally broadcast in 26 half-hour episodes, then later re-edited into 13 hour-long episodes, is generally regarded as one of the most faithful adaptations attempted to date.
- He worked with author P.L. Travers on a screenplay for a second Mary Poppins movie for Disney. It was never filmed, due partly to casting dilemmas.
