Mini bio

  • Jane Sibbett was born in Berkeley, California to William Ryan Sibbett IV and "Sis" Gaines Sibbett. After a few years in Orinda, California, the Sibbett family moved to the idyllic island of Alameda in the San Francisco Bay. In the late 1970s, Jane became a teenage DJ and station manager at K-RAT in Sacramento, California, and also made her theatrical debut at the Eagle Theater. Although always dreaming of being a writer, Jane loved being able to lose her still-shy self in acting so much that she applied to enter the theater program at UCLA, gaining a spot on the prestigious Acting Continuum under the guidance of the magnificent Jennifer Penny Rountree. Upon graduating from UCLA, Jane continued working with the women of the Continuum, going on to act, write, and co-produce several long-running, much lauded plays in Los Angeles. Jane Sibbett continues living in America as an actress, writer, director, photographer, producer, advocate, and prayer dancer. Among her over 200+ TV episodes and numerous film roles, she is best known as Ross's lesbian ex-wife, Carol, on NBC's sitcom "Friends," Heddy on the comedy "Herman's Head," and the over-the-top, but popular love-to-hate-her character of Clarice on "It Takes Two."

For a time, Jane traveled internationally, producing live events and documentaries for renowned healers and helpers around the world. With her global teammates, she helped link and empower up to half a million spiritually connected groups and individuals a year. For the last decade, however, while she still loves doing a movie a year, Jane has been uplifting people around the world through Jane's Dancing Hands - a relatively new part of her life in service where no acting is needed, just the allowing of the miraculous to support people from all backgrounds. To this day, she is most proud of her children, writer Ruby Fink, actor Kai Gaines, and actress/writer Violet Grace, and her three grandchildren.

Trivia

  • Was offered the part of "Debra" on Everybody Loves Raymond (1996). CBS and Dreamworks wanted her for the part, sent her the contract, she signed the deal, but after meeting Ray Romano and finding he didn't know they'd offered her the part, she graciously suggested they talk. Patricia Heaton was more who Ray had in mind and Jane is still hopeful that good karma will come back around to give her such a wonderful run on such a fabulous show as "Raymond".
  • Mother, with Karl Fink, of two girls named Ruby Fink (b. June 9, 1992) and Violet Fink (b. 2000) and a boy named Kai Fink (b. September 10, 1994).
  • She is a lifelong cowgirl and currently owns six horses that aspire to great things and beg her to create a western. Her three pigs equally add the extra glamour and comedy to an already fun family farm far from the bustle of Hollywood.
  • Jane's film debut was in a film strip for Health while in the second grade in Alameda, CA. She was chosen because she wore blue. Blue is still her favorite "lucky" color.
  • Jane Sibbett's first prime-time on-screen kiss was with 2009's Sexiest Man Alive, Johnny Depp.
