Biography

Nikki Si'ulepa is a New Zealand-born Samoan actor, writer, director, and filmmaker whose career spans more than three decades across film, television, and digital storytelling.

Most recently, Nikki appears in the television series "Tangata Pai", with roles in "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "God Bless You Mr Kopu". She will next be seen as part of the ensemble cast in the feature film "Exit to the Guillotine", starring Peyton List and Gustaf Skarsgård. She recently portrayed Superintendent Dominique Stevens in "Dark City: The Cleaner" and appeared opposite Elijah Wood in the feature film "Bookworm".

Her television work also includes the recurring role of Sheriff Constance in the acclaimed dystopian comedy "Creamerie", the role of DSS Pilau in the international thriller "The Sounds", and performances in "My Life Is Murder", "Filthy Rich", "Super City", and numerous other New Zealand productions. Her film credits include "Housebound" and "One Thousand Ropes", while she also starred in New Zealand's first lesbian comedy web series, "Pot Luck", earning the Best Actress award at the 2017 Rome Web Awards.

Beyond acting, Nikki is an accomplished writer and director. Her directorial feature debut, "Same But Different: A True New Zealand Love Story", enjoyed a thirteen-week run at the New Zealand box office, in which she also makes a cameo appearance as Hemi. Her films have screened at prestigious festivals worldwide, including Berlinale, Tribeca, Sydney Film Festival, Hawai'i International Film Festival, LA Skins, FIFO, Melbourne International Film Festival, Queer Screen, the New Zealand International Film Festival, and imagineNATIVE, receiving awards and nominations in Los Angeles, New York, and Paris. In 2017, Nikki was selected as one of only 70 filmmakers worldwide for Berlinale Talents, becoming the first New Zealand-born Pacific filmmaker to attend the programme.

Nikki began her screen career with the lead role of Marty in Ian Mune's "Whole of the Moon" (1995), earning two Best Actress awards for her performance as a street kid living with cancer. Since then, she has built a career known for portraying complex, memorable characters across drama, comedy, and genre, while championing authentic Indigenous and Pasifika storytelling both in front of and behind the camera.
