Biography

Dorothy Short was born on June 29, 1915 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She was an actress, known for Reefer Madness (1938), Code of the Cactus (1939) and Daughter of the Tong (1939). She was married to Dave O'Brien. She died on June 4, 1963 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Once married to western film star Dave O'Brien. They had two daughters, Patty and Pam. She appeared with him in some of those westerns, in the "Captain Midnight" serial, and in the well-received 'Pete Smith' shorts. Dorothy divorced Dave in the early 50s because he spent too much time indulging in his hobby -- yachting and sailing.

Her management company was the Lew Golder-Howard Lang Agency in the mid-1930s.

In early 1934, she was nominated as a prospective WAMPAS Baby Star. She was ultimately not selected to be one of the final thirteen Baby Stars of 1934.
