Richard Shissler was born in 1952 in Bloomington, Illinois. He worked for 20 years in the costume design profession as an assistant, associate designer and costume designer. His work appeared on Broadway, television and in prominent Hollywood movies winning numerous awards and recognition for his artistic work and accomplishments. He was a member of Costume Designers Guild Local 892 in Los Angeles, and the United Scenic Artists Local 829 in New York. He died in 1994 in Los Angeles, California, age 42.
