First runner-up at Miss USA 1997; became Miss USA after the winner (Hawaii's Brook Mahealani Lee) was crowned Miss Universe

At the end of her reign as Miss Teen USA, she crowned Miss Teen USA 1990 (now actress) Bridgette Wilson

Though no one has yet to win both Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, after taking the title of Miss USA 1997, due to Brooke Lee's win at Miss Universe that same year, she became the first woman to hold both Miss USA and Miss Teen USA titles.
