Son of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0792369/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Allan Sherman</a>.

Named after character Robert Shannon in the 1946 film &#39;The Green Years.&#39;.

Attended Brandeis University, California State University at Northridge and Santa Monica College. He did not graduate from any of them.

He is of Jewish descent. He has a younger sister.

Worked as a producer on his father, Allan Sherman&#39;s show I&#39;ve Got A Secret when it was brought back into syndication in 1972.
