- Alan Shepard was born on November 18, 1923 in Derry, New Hampshire, USA. He was a writer, known for The Magical World of Disney (1954), International Pro-Celebrity Golf (1975) and CBS News Extra: Project Mercury flight of Frienship 7 (1962). He was married to Louise Brewer. He died on July 21, 1998 in Monterey, California, USA.

- Is the only member of the original seven Mercury astronauts, the first astronauts to be picked for the U.S. space program, to walk on the moon.
