He was a director and writer, known for Blue Mountains, or Unbelievable Story (1983), The Chair (2017) and Tetri karavani (1964). He was married to Ariadna Shengelaia and Nelly Shengelaia. He died on August 4, 2025 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
