  • John Philip Shenale has contributed his talents as composer, arranger, musician and/or producer to over forty Gold and Platinum albums, both domestic and international and over thirty Top-40 singles. His work has been associated with 21 Grammy nominations.

    As arranger, he has contributed to a diverse collection of projects, including the records of: Jane's Addiction, Nina Hagen, Tracy Chapman, The Bangles, Jimmy Barnes, Michel Berger, Marc Lavoine, Billy Idol and Janet Jackson. As keyboardist, he toured and recorded with the Beach Boys in the late 70's. And recorded with a broad spectrum of artists including, Carlos Santana, John Hiatt, Robert Cray, John Doe, Diana Ross, MC Solar, Toni Childs, Warren G and Bonnie Tyler using his massive arsenal of acoustic, electro-acoustic and electronic instruments,

    Having worked with some of the finest producers in music - Dave Jerden, Giorgio Moroder, Eddie Kramer, Jim Steinman, Keith Forsey, Dave Kershenbaum and Don Gehman to name a few, allowed John Philip to fuse this rich background into his productions - most notable, the critically acclaimed records of Willy DeVille: Back Streets of Desire, Loup Garou, Crow Jane Alley and Pistola. His longtime collaboration with Tori Amos led to the 2011 epic, Night of Hunters, making her the first woman ever to simultaneously land on Billboard's Classical, Alternative and Rock Charts all in the Top 10. Night of Hunters went on to win the 2012 ECHO Klassik Award.

    John Philip has also contributed his talents as composer, arranger, musician and producer to the films of: Carl Reiner, Herbert Ross, Walter Hill, Richard Lester, Brian Yuzna, Steve Miner, John Hughes, Paul Verhoeven, Curtis Hanson and Frank Oz.

    His television credits include composing and arranging for the series, The Sons of Anarchy, Alcatraz and The Bastard Executioner.
