Joseph Shaw was born on January 6, 1920 in Lancashire, England, UK. He was an actor, known for The Brood (1979), Stage by Stage (1954) and Festival (1960). He was married to Mary Savidge. He died on January 9, 2008 in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

Was an actor in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, held annually in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

He began performing Shakespeare roles while still in school. He studied drama for two years at the Central School of Drama in London, and appeared with various theatre companies throughout Great Britain.

He moved to Canada in 1954 and served as associate director of the Crest Theatre in Toronto.
