David Allan Shaw spent 15 years in Major market Radio, and ended up doing stand up comedy. He headed to California to continue doing stand up and acting when his father-in-law took sick. Knowing his wife and family was more important than anything going on in Hollywood, he put his career on the shelf, and moved his family back east so his wife could spend time close to her father and the family.
