- Ben Sharples is an American actor and filmmaker known for his role as Jack Hafey, best friend of Brad and Pia Martin (Amy Smart and Ryan Kwanten), in the CBS Films horror movie Flight 7500 (2014), directed by Takashi Shimizu (The Grudge (2004)).
In the independent space, Sharples is the co-founder of Gold Door Films and the lead of the cult sports-comedy feature Gentlemen's Fury (2017), which he also co-wrote, produced, and directed. His work in the film earned him accolades including Best Actor at the Sunscreen Film Festival West.
An accomplished athlete, Sharples played for the Cal men's tennis team and later coached professional tennis player Zack Fleishman at the US Open. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley and holds an MFA from the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.).
