- [on Joan Crawford, (1988)] Joan was the love of my life... a great, great person. We began together on The Best of Everything (1959) at Fox in 1959. We were together on Baby Jane [What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962)], Sweet Charlotte [Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte (1964)], and throughout the 1960s. I did her for premieres, the Oscars, and for TV shows. Every Sunday when she was in Hollywood she had her facials and I would color her hair. She was very disciplined. The lady took very good care of herself. She had gorgeous skin and very good hair.
