Biography

Shira-Lee Shalit is an award-winning director, writer and filmmaker. Most recently she wrote and directed "The Oh Gees" which was nominated for Best Comedy at the Cannes Short Film Festival, won Best Comedy at the Paris Short Film Festival, Best Comedy and Direction at the Piermont Film Festival and was an official selection at the LA Comedy Film Festival. Her feature film, A-List, won the Audience Award at the Milan International Film Fest, the Gold Remy for Best Comedy at Worldfest, and her film Open Air won Best Short at the NJ International Film Festival and the Mexico International Film Festival. Her first short film, Full Cycle, was named a Regional Finalist in the Student Academy Awards. Her many theatrical productions include the World Premiere of LAByrinth Theatre Company's Devil of Choice (Cherry Lane), What's Wrong With You (Harold Clurman Lab), Nick and Zoe (IRT), Girls Will Be Girls (NY Fringe Festival- Fringe Favorite) and Fault Lines (TBG Theatre). Shira-Lee is a member of The Actors Studio Director Unit and NY Women in Film & TV. She is on faculty at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and is Head of Directing Actors at Columbia University Graduate Film Division.
