Tim Shadbolt was born on February 19, 1947 in Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand. He was an actor and writer, known for The World's Fastest Indian (2005), Gordon Bennett (1989) and Utu (1983). He died on January 8, 2026.

Current mayor (as of August 2010) of Invercargill and former mayor of Waitemata City.

Currently the Mayor of Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand

He attended Rutherford High and Auckland University.

First came to national Zealander prominence in the 1960s as a student activist on issues like the Vietnam war and apartheid.

Awarded the Knight Companion of New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2019 New Year's Honours List.
