Biography

Francis Seyrig was born on April 27, 1927 in Paris, France. Francis was a composer, known for Last Year at Marienbad (1961), Marie Soleil (1964) and The Trial of Joan of Arc (1962). Francis was married to Nelly Delhumeau. Francis died on April 14, 1979 in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, Haute-Savoie, France.

Brother of Delphine Seyrig

He provided the music for Last Year at Marienbad (1961) and Le lys dans la vallée (1970), both of which starred his sister, Delphine Seyrig.

Father of Coralie Seyrig.

Son of archaeologist Henri Arnold Seyrig (1895-1973), he is related thru his mother Hermine de Saussure (1901-1984) to the Swiss intellectual family of de Saussure and the Neckers and thus to the writer Germaine de Stael.
