Boryana Semerdjieva

Boryana Semerdjieva was born on May 1, 1959 in Hisar, Plovdiv district, Bulgaria, but she grow up in Tryavna. She considers this town as a born town. In 1974 - 1978 she studied at School of Art in Kazanlak, Bulgaria. She graduated Fine Arts Academy in Sofia in 1983. During her education she began to work with famous set designer Asen Stoychev, who is her real teacher. In 1988 the great Bulgarian film director Rangel Vulchanov invited her as a costume designer in his film "And Where Do We Go from Here?". Soon another film director, Georgi Djulgerov gave her a possibility to make costumes for his musical "AkaDaMuS". After that two movies Boryana Semerdzhieva was the costume designer of 48 films. She works also as a production designer in 11 Bulgarian movies. Boryana Semerdzhieva has a theater experience. She is costume designer in 6 theater performances. In 2002 - 2006 she was a costume and production design teacher in New Bulgarian University.
