- Jake Shears was born on October 3, 1978 in Seattle, Washington, USA. He is an actor and composer, known for Layer Cake (2004), Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012) and How to Lose Friends & Alienate People (2008).
- Has been vocalist for alternative band "Scissor Scissors" since 2002. As he and his fellow band members Babydaddy and Del Marquis are openly gay, the group has become popular in the gay and lesbian community.
- Collaborated with James Wolf and wrote "I Believe In You" for Kylie Minogue.
- Attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.
