Yakov Segel was born on 10 March 1923 in Rostov-on-Don, Russian SFSR, USSR [now Russia]. He was a writer and director, known for Inoplanetyanka (1985), Proshchayte, golubi (1961) and Razbudite Mukhina (1968). He was married to Liliana Alyoshnikova. He died on 19 May 1995 in Moscow, Russia.
