- Dark-haired silent screen comedienne. A favourite leading lady of Buster Keaton, she appeared in several of his early two-reel comedies. Retired from films in 1922, after marrying the writer Jules Furthman. Lived in Culver City until the end of her life.
- From 1919 to 1922 Seely was under contract to comedy producer Mack Sennett, starting out in Sennett's "Bathing Beauty" series. Her five films with Buster Keaton - the defining moments of her career - were all done as loan-outs from Sennett, which prevented her from working more extensively with Keaton. At the end of 1922 Seely retired from show business to raise a family.
- Had a knack for physical comedy and did her own stunts. Buster Keaton put Seely into more slapstick than any of his other leading ladies.
