Trivia

  • Erich Schönfelder earns a greater importance for the German silent movie as a director than as an actor. After first directions for "Der Diplomatensäugling" (1919) and "Der Kammerdiener seiner Frau" (1919) he became a very successful director of popular productions of different genres.
  • The actor and director Erich Schönfelder came to the film business at the age of 30 and he began his film career as an actor.
  • With the new era of the talkies he was able to become established in this medium too. But because of his unexpected death in 1933 at the age of only 48 he only could realise few works - to these movies belong "Ein ausgekochter Junge" (1931), "Kampf" (1932) and "Aus einer kleinen Residenz" (1932).
  • He continued to appear in front of the camera in the 20's. With "Der Greifer" (1930) came is only talky as an actor into being.
