Biography

Kyra Schon has the distinction of having portrayed Karen Cooper, the trowel-wielding zombie kid in George Romero's original "Night of the Living Dead." She currently keeps her artistic skills honed by teaching art, creating handmade sterling silver and bronze jewelry and designing whimsical greeting cards featuring her pooch Spiffy, a hound with an abundant personality. Kyra formerly wrote a weekly feature for The Horror Channel website entitled "Ghoulish Guidance", an advice column for zombies and other people.

Daughter of Karl Hardman, who also played her father in Night of the Living Dead (1968).

Currently teaches pottery and sculpture.

Though famous for her role in Night of the Living Dead (1968), Kyra Schon ultimately decided that she did not want to pursue acting as a full-time career and retired, instead becoming a jeweler and teacher in pottery.

I didn't see Resident Evil but I liked 28 Days Later. I don't typically like fast zombies, but they didn't bother me in 28 Days Later because those people weren't really dead. It made sense in that context. What makes no sense to me is when dead people are faster than they were in life. Like the fat woman in the "Dawn" remake. It's absurd.

When I was celebrating Night of the Living Dead (1968)'s 40th Anniversary at Fangoria's 2008 Weekend of Horrors (in Los Angeles, CA), one fan told me I should be in Quentin Tarantino's next movie. That's a huge compliment.
